18 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
19 - 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

# How to Make It:

01 - Set oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
02 - Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook ziti until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
03 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook onion until softened, 3 to 4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
04 - Add ground beef and Italian sausage. Cook, breaking apart, until meat is browned and cooked through, approximately 6 to 8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
05 - Incorporate crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper. Simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning to taste.
06 - Combine ricotta, egg, Parmesan, and parsley in a bowl until evenly blended.
07 - Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the baking dish. Add half the cooked pasta, half the ricotta mixture, and half the meat sauce. Sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
08 - Repeat the layering with remaining pasta, ricotta mixture, and meat sauce. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
09 - Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
10 - Remove foil and continue baking for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
11 - Allow casserole to rest for 10 minutes to set before serving.
